IT Business Analyst II - Aurora, IL presso Mitutoyo America Corporation

Summary:

Under general supervision, the Business Analyst (BA) is responsible for bridging the gap between IT and business using data analytics to assess processes, determine requirements, and deliver data-driven recommendations to stakeholders.

What You'll Do:

1.      Eliciting Requirements

o   Documenting user requirements, conditions, functionality, products, or services for internal or external use.

o   Gains and demonstrates business understanding prior to proposing a written solution.

2.      Business Requirements Documentation

o   Assists Business Analyst’s with organization and documentation.

o   Works with client/end-user for changes and approval.

3.      Structured Analysis

o   Creates “as-is-state” models from text to document, validate, communicate, and organize requirements into coherent ideas.

o   Utilizes business models, process models, data models, and workflow models.

o   Assists in documenting “as-is-state” for “to-be-state” models.

4.      Object-Oriented Analysis

o   Assists in functional decomposition of the as-is state of a project, forming a simple model of this state.

o   Develops activity diagrams to further clarify requirements.

5.      Testing

o   Designs test cases and reviews results.

6.      End-User Support

o   Works with end-user’s post deployment to clarify questions.

o   Works with training managers to define requirements to deliver training support the business needs.

7.      IT Fluency

o   Understands which resources are appropriate to help define and validate requirements and specifications within a given project and product scope.

o   Clear understanding of IT products and tools necessary for the business to function.

o   Understanding of interconnectivity and relationships between the tools and system architecture and information architecture

8.      Business Process Re-engineering

o   Utilizes modeling techniques to Identify possible opportunities and areas of improvement.

o   Walks the client or user through each step of the process, examining individual tasks that could potentially be improved.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:  Office Environment

Physical Demands: The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. 

Monday – Friday 8:30AM-5:00PM

 Travel:  Less than 10% travel is associated with this position.

Required Education and Experience: 

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience of 3-5 years.
