Student Worker – Bob the Bishop

Purpose/Objective of the Role:
- The school mascot is responsible for embodying the character and persona of the mascot during sporting events, pep rallies, and other school and community gatherings.
- The mascot performer brings enthusiasm and excitement to engage and entertain audiences of all ages and helps promote a positive and spirited atmosphere.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Performance and crowd engagement:
- Wear the mascot costume and perform at scheduled events, maintaining the mascot persona at all times when in public view.
- Use exaggerated movements, gestures, and body language to convey emotion and interact with the crowd, as the mascot does not speak.
- Promotional and community appearances:
- Pose for photos with students, fans, and community members.
- Serve as a positive ambassador for the school and its values at both campus and off-campus events.
- Logistics and scheduling:
- Arrive on time and prepared for all scheduled events, which may occur in the evenings, on weekends, or during school breaks.
- Being Bob the Bishop is on a as needed basis and is not a full-time position. You will receive advanced notice in preparation for each event.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Physical stamina: Able to walk and perform in a warm costume for extended periods with limited vision.
- Personality: Must possess an outgoing, creative, and animated personality with strong non-verbal communication skills.
NOTE:
