The Center for Data & Society at Chestnut Hill College invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position in Cybersecurity, beginning Fall 2026. We seek a dedicated educator with both academic and applied experience to help shape the future of a growing and interdisciplinary program.

The Center for Data & Society brings together the computer, mathematical, and social sciences to explore how data can be used to better understand and support our communities. Cybersecurity is housed within the Computer Science Department, which recently revamped its offerings under a new Computer & Information Technology degree with concentrations in management, programming, application development, interactive design, AI/ML, and more.
Cybersecurity also supports new interdisciplinary majors in Business Analytics, Data Science, and the Data Studies for Social Good minor. Our courses prepare students for careers in law enforcement, industry, and government, with a strong foundation in programming, networking, security, forensics, and project management.
Responsibilities
- Teach 12 credits per semester in undergraduate Cybersecurity courses.
- Advise students in the major/minor after their first year.
- Contribute to curriculum development and program assessment.
- Participate in faculty duties such as committee service.
- Support and contribute to the mission of Chestnut Hill College.
Required Qualifications
- Assistant Professor: Ph.D. in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Instructor: Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in cybersecurity or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated ongoing professional development and growth.
- Proficiency in several of the following areas (and openness to learning others):
- Introductory Cybersecurity
- Operating System Security
- Networking & Security
- Cryptography
- Network Defense
- Digital Forensics
- Data Analysis
- Technical Writing
- Legal and Ethical Issues in Cybersecurity
- Research Methods
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant CompTIA certifications (A+, Network+, Security+, Server+, Cloud+)
- College-level teaching experience, especially at junior/senior levels
- Experience with learning management systems (preferably Canvas)
- Strong communication, writing, and problem-solving skills
