The Project Management and Strategic Operations team within Cell and Gene Therapy at Vertex is seeking a project manager with prior experience in CDMO management and technology transfer to facilitate internal and external facing project teams and plans. The successful candidate will bring a strong skillset in project management and relationship management, with a willingness to listen, learn, and an ability to quickly apply learnings to day-to-day activities. This candidate will be solution-oriented with a proven ability to leverage knowledge of CMC development to effectively manage cross-functional project teams and partner with peers to execute on projects enabling key Vertex goals.
This role is Hybrid.
This is a 12 month contract.
Required skillset
- 3-5 years CDMO management experience (process/analytical development, GMP manufacturing); prior experience as point-of-contact for CDMO in capacity as project manager or CDMO relationship manager.
- Direct experience managing tech transfer of drug candidate i; prior experience with change management (i.e., process, raw materials, etc.) and integration into overall project goals/timelines
- Developing and managing project timelines, risk registers, and project dashboards with tools such as MS project, Smartsheet
- Management of project teams including meeting invites, agendas, meeting minutes and actions (with timely follow-up)
- Financial management: Familiarity with procure-to-pay processes, contracts (SOWs, COs), purchase orders, invoice tracking and triage
- Ability to communicate and escalate clearly, Ability to understand and articulate dependencies across complex projects
- Knowledge of CMC development including cGMP and ICH guidelines
- Ability to listen and learn from peers and manager, with proven experience executing on actionable feedback
- Highly collaborative, partner cross-functionally with colleagues in PD, AD, MFG, QA/QC, Regulatory CMC to execute on development plans while aligning on and managing project risks and opportunities
- Familiarity with formulating slide presentations preferred but not required
- Ability to be on-site 3-4 days a week to facilitate project team meetings (aligned with Vertex ways-of-working)
$85-$90/HR
