Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Instructional Strategies

1. Organize and maintain a fluid and effective elementary student intervention program.
2. Supervise, guide, and support paraprofessionals working in the intervention program.
3. Create a campus schedule for servicing students.
4. Assess and identify children at risk.
5. Hold Intervention meetings to ensure appropriate student progress. 
6. Provide direct instruction to students who are eligible for services in a small group, classroom, or individual setting. Co-plan or co-teach lessons with grade level teachers.
7. Provide interventions for at risk students, preparing and delivering lessons that reflect the specific academic intervention needs for each individual student.
8. Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and technology that reflects understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned. Differentiate instruction individually and within a small group.
9. Design and implement specific strategies to promote intellectual, social, and physical growth in all identified intervention students.
10. Evaluate and measure the effectiveness of specific RtI strategies and interventions; conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
11. Communicate individual student progress regularly with appropriate school personnel and parents.
12. Provide professional development to teachers who work with at risk students.
13. Provide coaching to teachers to assist students in Tier II and III instruction.

Classroom Management and Organization

14. Create an environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
15. Manage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
16. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
17. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.

Professional Growth and Development

18. Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.
19. Comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.
20. Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.

21. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

22. Supervise, guide, and support paraprofessionals working in the intervention program.
