About the Role
Spiegelworld is looking for a Head of Props to join the team at DiscoShow at the LINQ in Las Vegas. This position is responsible for the props crew in the daily operation of the show as well as operating their own show track daily. Included in the scope is assistance with the maintenance, inspection, and operation of show props on site according to company policies. This position reports directly to the Production Manager. This is a Full-Time position that pays $40/hour.
What You’ll Do
- Weekly Schedule of props crew members in collaboration with Department Heads
- Maintain all Show Props
- Maintain up to date documentation, show files, and documentation associated with Show Properties, including maintenance reports and show cue tracks.
- Actively engage in our antiracist commitment and internal practices by participating in offered learnings, engaging in conversations around Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility, and helping us maintain a safe and welcoming workspace
- Create a work environment which promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction.
- Run deck track during the show
- Train subs for show coverage as well as keeping existing subs updated on show changes.
- Track consumables and spares that are applicable to the department and requesting restocking orders from the Production Manager in a timely manner
- Collaborate with other departments as needed to run performances and rehearsals
- Participate in all required safety and emergency rescue trainings, as directed
- Establish trust-based relationships with the performers
- Other duties as assigned by your manager.
All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Spiegelworld policies, practices, and procedures.
What You Bring
- At least 3 years of experience in Professional Theatrical environments
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the crew leadership roles
- An Ideal candidate will provide evidence of continuing education in associated fields
- Familiarity with tools, equipment and materials needed to maintain Show Props.
- Must have a strong ability to manage and prioritize a multitude of projects, and delegate when appropriate.
- Current OSHA 10 and ability to maintain proper safety and sanitation standards
- Use of Microsoft Suite as well as being generally computer savvy
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in an always changing, never dull, creative environment
- Exceptional work ethic, strong attention to detail and organization, and a collaborative attitude
- Ability to exhibit extreme patience
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be team-oriented and self-motivated
- Passion for ensuring you consistently deliver the highest standards
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must have valid work authorization for the US
- Must have a flexible schedule with the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Successful background check clearance prior to hire
