In this position, you will also play a key role in helping to improve patient outcomes by listening carefully to each patient and customer’s dietary needs, and handling meal requests in a timely way. How You Will Fulfill Your Potential Responsibilities - Set up and serve food/supplies to the cafeteria customers while utilizing accurate portion control, adhering to recipes, and maintaining proper food handling - Interact directly with patients at the bedside to obtain menu selections - Assemble patient food trays according to computerized assembly tickets - Maintain appropriate par level of food and supplies for customers as well as daily unit/refrigerator floor stock - Perform daily sanitation procedures utilizing appropriate tools and products including ware washing and processing - Assist with setup, decorating, meal delivery and pickup for special functions (events, holidays, or theme functions) within the hospital - Respond to patient/customer satisfaction concerns and make appropriate decisions regarding suitable resolutions within the scope of the job - Occasionally clean and pick up all eating areas (tables, chairs, counters surrounding the cafeteria and kitchen) Qualifications/Experience Education/Accredited Programs - High school diploma/GED equivalent preferred Experience/Abilities - Customer service experience preferred - Experience in a healthcare-based dietary role highly preferred - Ability to handle patient/customer complaints and demands - Ability to work with many personalities, including employees, customers, and patients in a highly time structured environment - Ability to work productively in a fast-paced environment - Ability to learn general nutrition principles and special diet modifications within 7-10 days - Ability to maintain an organized work environment using proper rotation with food products - Ability to act as a role model - Able to work with institutional food service equipment Salary Range The expected base rate for this Glens Falls, New York, United States-based position is $17.25 to $22.50 per hour. Exact rate is determined on a case-by-case basis commensurate with experience level, as well as education and certifications pertaining to each position which may be above the listed job requirements.
