Position Summary
The HR Manager will serve as a trusted advisor, employee advocate, and compliance champion, overseeing talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, training and development, and HR policy administration. The role also includes managing HR team and supporting operational leadership with workforce planning and organizational development.
Principle Responsibilities
Strategic HR Partnership
- Act as a consultative partner to the Plant Director and department leaders.
- Support organizational development, succession planning, and workforce strategy.
- Provide guidance on change management, team dynamics, and performance culture.
Employee Relations & Engagement
- Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
- Handle employee relations issues with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Proactively address workplace concerns to minimize risk and support employee satisfaction.
- Coordinate and support employee engagement activities.
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Oversee the HRG and partners with in-house recruiters to ensure timely, quality hires across skilled trades and professional roles.
- Lead and execute recruitment strategies for a competitive labor market with the focus on retention and diversity.
- Support apprenticeship and internal mobility programs where applicable.
Safety, Compliance & Culture
- Delivers quarterly community events, not limited too, driving local volunteer programs.
- Collaborate with EHS and operations leaders to promote a safety-first culture.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and HR regulations.
- Partner on audits, investigations, and compliance initiatives, when applicable
HR Operations
- Oversee HR practices and systems, ensuring alignment with corporate and plant needs.
- Collaborates on updates to HR policies when needed. Ensuring compliance and understanding of policies throughout the plant. .
- Manage performance review cycles, provide support for site level compensation administration, and employee recognition programs.
- Utilize HR metrics and data to drive continuous improvement.
Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s or HR certification a plus) or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2 years in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, safety culture, and workforce development.
- Demonstrated experience supporting hourly and salaried workforces.
- Proven ability to build relationships, influence leaders, and manage conflict.
- Experience with HRIS systems and data-driven decision-making; ADP a plus.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Experience/Educational/Training Preferred:
- Background in regulated manufacturing environments.
- ITAR, ISO, and/or FDA knowledge in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience supporting operations with CNC machining, or skilled trades.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement culture.
- SHRM or HRCI certification, other equivalent HR education.
