What You Will Do
With a passion for care towards residents, families and team members, the Social Worker, is accountable for providing outstanding care and support to residents, families, staff and volunteers within their designated scope of practice. The Social Worker, demonstrates responsiveness to the holistic needs of residents by advocating, promoting choices, maintaining dignity and facilitating independence.
Individual responsibilities will fall under six main areas of focus:
- Resident-Centered Care: Promotes service excellence through active participation with the Interdisciplinary Team to achieve and maintain quality resident centered care within the scope of Social Work.
- Documentation: Accurate, comprehensive and timely documentation of resident care assessment, interventions and outcomes in alignment with Bethany policies and procedures.
- Safety: Contributes to a safe environment for residents, the team and self by understanding and adhering to safety guidelines and practices at all times.
- Pro-active Learner: Demonstrates the vision and values of Bethany and lives out the mission of Creating Caring Communities.
- Team Work: Cares for and actively participates and assists the Interdisciplinary Team to achieve and maintain a responsible atmosphere of resident centered care.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work
- At least two years of recent experience in related Social Work is required, preferably in the field of gerontology
- Registered with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
- Able to work effectively in a physically and mentally demanding environment.
- Demonstrates an acceptable level of reading, writing, and comprehension of English language skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must possess initiative, good judgement and demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision..
