We are looking to add new
talent to our growing team! We are currently seeking Assistant Project
Manager, Environmental Engineer, Environmental Scientist, or Geologist to
work in a technical support role with highly skilled professionals on diverse
project teams in a dynamic environment. This is an excellent opportunity to
join a growing group and company and get involved in a variety of projects for
a diverse range of clients. This is a full-time position located in our Parsippany,
NJ office.
You will be responsible for
coordinating and executing environmental Phase I Environmental Site Assessments
(ESAs), site investigations, remedial investigations, and technical report
preparation. A strong aptitude for technical writing and a solid understanding
of NJDEP rules (including SRRA, ISRA, and related programs) are essential.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
In this position, you will:
- Balance technical tasks, such as field assignments, reporting, and analysis with task management and project management support activities.
- Apply your understanding of technical scopes of work and project objectives to deliver quality assignments.
- Demonstrate and apply technical competence and knowledge of NJDEP guidance and regulations to assigned tasks.
- Collaborate closely with project teams, field teams, and health and safety personnel to achieve client goals and objectives, ensuring technical accuracy, quality, budget, schedule, and safety requirements are met.
- Support project management with cost estimating, scheduling, subcontracting, resource allocation, project planning, task delegation, and financial management.
- Prepare and/or review written communications and technical deliverables.
- Engage in internal and external communications with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Coach, mentor, and direct junior staff to ensure high-quality execution of project tasks, including field activities and preparation of technical reports and deliverables, while promoting knowledge sharing and team development.
- Lead and oversee project environmental data reduction, summarization, visualization tasks; feasibility studies, remedial design, permitting tasks, remedial construction, and remedial system O&M tasks.
- Plan and execute work in accordance with company and client health and safety protocols.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Minimum Skills and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
- 6+ years of related experience.
- Professional registration or certification, as applicable.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Task management experience.
- Proficient computer literacy skills, including the use of the Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint) and the ability to learn various software needed to support financial management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong technical writing skills with a history of preparing NJ regulatory deliverables.
- In-depth understanding of New Jersey environmental regulations and NJDEP processes.
- OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER training and refresher updates.
Preferred Skills:
- Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, or related field.
- Project management experience is a plus.
- Experience supporting Phase I and LSRP-led projects.
The salary range for this position in Parsippany, NJ is $80,000 - $100,000 annually. Actual compensation will be based upon a variety of factors such as education, related work experience, certificates, skills, and current market conditions. Haley & Aldrich reviews salary ranges each quarter to assess competitiveness with the market.
