POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for a Senior Human Resources Generalist who thrives on getting things done. This role is ideal for someone who has deep experience across core HR functions and can confidently take ownership of day-to-day operations, particularly in the areas of leaves of absence, benefits administration, and general HR compliance. This is a great opportunity for someone who’s ready for growth. As our company evolves, this position is expected to grow into a leadership role.
WHERE YOU’LL WORK
This position is hybrid. Work from home and come onsite to our Garden Grove office. Standard business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Benefits Administration
- Own and manage the end-to-end benefits administration process, including enrollments, changes, and open enrollment
- Serve as the point of contact for employee benefit inquiries and vendor communications
- Partner with brokers and carriers to resolve issues and support benefit strategy implementation
Leave Management
- Administer and manage all employee leaves of absence, including FMLA, ADA, state/local leaves, and company-specific policies
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and maintain accurate records and documentation
- Support employees and managers through the leave process with clear communication and guidance
HR Operations & Compliance
- Support general HR functions including onboarding, offboarding, employee changes, and maintaining HRIS data integrity
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; recommend and implement updates as needed
- Manage employment verifications, I-9 compliance, and other HR documentation
Employee Support & Experience
- Act as a day-to-day resource for employees and managers on HR policies and procedures
- Handle employee inquiries with a service-minded approach and always maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Partner with the Director on process improvements that enhance the employee experience and operational efficiency
- Perform any other duties and projects assigned
WHO YOU ARE
- Able to ensure benefits and leave processes are running smoothly and accurately
- Make sure employees feel supported, informed, and trust HR to get things done
- Handle day-to-day HR issues with confidence and clarity
- Bring ideas for improvement and proactively identify gaps in current processes
- Strong, hands-on experience managing employee leaves of absence and benefits administration
- Possess in-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws (FMLA, ADA, COBRA, HIPAA, etc.)
- Have excellent time and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Is a clear, concise communicator who can work independently and takes ownership of work
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- High school diploma or GED required
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, or another similar discipline preferred (or equivalent combination of education, training, or experience in lieu of education)
- Minimum 5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a generalist or operations-focused role
- Prior experience with HRIS systems; comfort with Excel/Google Sheets, and benefits platforms
- Distraction-free home workspace with a secure internet connection
NICE TO HAVES
- PHR or SHRM-CP a plus
- Previous experience in healthcare or social work
- Experience using Bamboo
