FII USA, Inc., a Foxconn Technology Group Company, is seeking a Failure Analysis (FA) Supervisor to lead a team of engineers and technicians in performing root cause analysis, material evaluation, and reporting activities for high-tech components and assemblies. The FA Supervisor will coordinate testing and analysis activities, ensure adherence to quality standards, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product reliability, customer requirements, and organizational goals.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily operations of the Failure Analysis Lab, ensuring timely and accurate completion of analysis requests.

  • Lead and mentor FA engineers and technicians across multiple shifts, providing training, coaching, and performance feedback.

  • Plan, assign, and monitor workload to meet project deadlines and customer expectations.

  • Oversee and participate in failure analysis activities, including PCB/PCBA investigations, solder joint analysis, component failure, contamination analysis, and material characterization.

  • Ensure effective use of analytical tools such as X-ray, SEM/EDX, CSAM, FTIR, OMM/CMM, cross-sectioning, dye-and-pull, and other metrology methods.

  • Review, interpret, and validate FA data; generate clear and detailed reports for internal stakeholders and customers.

  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to address design, process, or material-related issues.

  • Maintain calibration, documentation, and readiness of FA lab equipment; evaluate new tools and methods to improve efficiency and capability.

  • Support corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives based on FA findings.

  • Enforce adherence to IPC, JEDEC, ISO/IEC 17025, and other industry standards.

  • Ensure 5S, ESD, and safety practices are consistently applied in the FA lab.

  • Support hiring, onboarding, and development of new team members within the FA group.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field; equivalent experience considered.

  • 5+ years of experience in Failure Analysis or reliability engineering, with at least 1–2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.

  • Strong technical knowledge of PCB/PCBA failure mechanisms, solder joint analysis, environmental testing, and contamination analysis.

  • Hands-on experience with FA tools and methodologies: X-ray, SEM/EDX, CSAM, FTIR, cross-sectioning, dye-and-pull, etc.

  • Familiarity with IPC and JEDEC standards; experience with ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory practices preferred.

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required.

  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

  • Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods, and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
