Job Summary

 

This role is responsible for overseeing the successful execution of school-related projects, with a strong emphasis on collaboration with school-based leadership. The position manages a portfolio of small, medium, and large-scale technology initiatives, projects, and programs across multiple departments—from initiation through implementation. Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining comprehensive project plans, schedules, status reports, risk assessments, and other essential project documentation, all in alignment with organizational best practices.

 

Essential Functions

 

1. Develop and Facilitate definitions of service levels and customer requirements by interacting with existing or potential stakeholders to determine their organizational needs and to develop requirements documentation and cost benefit analyses.

2. Lead the continuous development of project management strategies and best practices to meet the organization’s needs.

3. Conduct regular project and program reviews to ensure all projects are being performed using DCPS Technology best practices. Collaborate with project managers to resolve issues within individual projects or within portfolios

4. Ensure Project Management processes areas such as Change Management, Risk Management, Scope Management, Communications, Resource Management, and Cost Management are being properly used in managing all projects and programs.

5. Facilitate training for project management staff in current project management standards and techniques as part of project management continual improvement

6. Lead and facilitate the proper implementation of project lessons learned processes to enable continual project execution enhancement.

7. Share project Management techniques and guidance across the organization.

 

Qualifications

 

Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred, or equivalent work experience.

 

Experience:  Ten (10) years of project management experience. Experience in government entity or public school preferred.

 

 

Certifications & Licenses:  Relevant project management certification preferred.
