Job Summary
The Quality Assurance Analyst I is a supportive role within the QA department, ensuring quality and compliance of our testing services and systems. This entry-level position is ideal for candidates who are detail-oriented, eager to learn, and passionate about improving patient care. This role supports clinical and administrative teams to identify discrepancies and contribute to the refinement of safe and effective testing services.
Essential Responsibilities/Duties
Quality Assessment
- Assist in the development and maintenance of quality assessment protocols based on regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Collaborate with quality team members to ensure comprehensive evaluations are robust to uphold quality standards set and expected.
Execution of Reviews
- Conduct audits and reviews of process, documentation, and safety across various laboratory sites.
- Document findings to ensure they align with established standards and guidelines
- Present findings to entire quality team and operational administrators to align on corrective actions necessary
Incident Reporting
- Identify, log, and track incidents or discrepancies using the designated reporting systems.
- Work with quality team and operational administrators to resolve issues effectively.
Documentation
- Maintain documentation of quality assessments, findings, and action plans.
- Assist in the creation of quality assurance documentation, including reports and compliance checklists.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of laboratory operation competency and training documentation
Learning and Development
- Participate in training sessions and workshops, as available, to strengthen skills and knowledgebase.
- Assist in organizing effective communication with cross-functional teams to gather feedback, facilitating continuing education, and problem solving.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in biological, chemical, laboratory, or clinical sciences field, required
Competencies/Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to create and present presentations to small and large groups
- Basic math skills: Ability to create and work with statistical data
- Moderate to advanced skill level in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, etc.)
- Ability to perform, create, and interpret statistical data for validations, correlations, etc.
- Ability to travel (~30%)
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple concurrent projects at the departmental level
Experience
- 1-2 years prior clinical laboratory experience, required
- Participation in CAP/CLIA inspections, preferred
Certifications
- ASCP or applicable Quality Licensure (ASQ, Six Sigma, etc.) preferred
