Position Summary:

The Launch Intern will support the Launch Engineering team in facilitating engineering changes, preparing production processes, and ensuring smooth program launches. This internship provides hands-on exposure to cost analysis, trial production, documentation, and manufacturing processes while working closely with experienced engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in collecting and understanding plant needs, including materials, process implementation, automation, error-proofing, equipment, floor layout, and labor support.
  • Support analysis of program investments and feasibility studies.
  • Help review drawings, process data, and tooling/equipment designs under supervision.
  • Assist in identifying potential risks in program development and mitigation strategies.
  • Learn technical specifications of new equipment and support readiness for production.
  • Help with equipment/tooling buy-offs and in-plant tuning plans.
  • Support preparation of materials, labor, production planning, production line setup, and WIP racks.
  • Assist in planning trial productions and sample submissions.
  • Help resolve issues from trial production to meet capacity, appearance, dimension, and cost targets.
  • Update and maintain production documents, including Control Plans, Work Instructions (WI), PFMEAs, and Flowcharts.
  • Assist in the PPAP process to achieve PSW approval.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently studying or recent graduate in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Strong willingness to learn, high motivation, and proactive attitude.
  • Good communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and interact professionally with colleagues.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in both English and Mandarin.
  • Basic understanding of materials (metals).
  • Knowledge or exposure to automotive interior/exterior.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, assembly, and production line operations.

  • Strong problem-solving ability.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and tasks in a fast-paced environment.
