Electronics & Instrumentation Technician Opportunity
Competitive Pay: $30–$35/hr based on experience

- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair field installed industrial equipment as well as perform “bench work” on related components
- Read and interpret loop sheets, P&ID’s, and assembly and installation drawings
- Maintenance and reliability of site facilities, equipment, and instruments
- Inspect, test, and repair electric, electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic instruments and systems used to indicate, record, and control field devices in a process plant.
- Troubleshoot and repair low voltage electrical circuits used for motor and process control
- Troubleshoot and replace motors, relays, electrical circuit protective devices, lighting devices and other electrical equipment as required
- Calibrate analytical devices used in monitoring operations, such as LEL Detectors, Gas Monitoring and detection, pH, conductivity, pressure, and flow.
- Trace out and tests instruments and measuring devices based on loop drawings or electrical schematics using test equipment and maintenance manuals
- Removes defective instruments from system, decontaminates, disassembles, and cleans instruments, and replaces defective devices, using hand tools
- Familiarity with repairing, installing, and maintaining, mechanical equipment
- Lubricates instruments and replaces defective wiring and tubing
- Calibrates measuring instruments according to standards and/or manufacturer’s recommendations to ensure accuracy of recording and indicating function
- Prepares schematic or loop drawings, sketches, and reports to reflect changes or alterations made in instruments, circuits, and systems
- Support ISO 9001, 14001, and Responsible Care Programs
- Able to complete and update maintenance work orders through use of the plant CMMS
- Actively engage in preventive maintenance of equipment and facilities
- Plan and schedule maintenance work in coordination with plant operations
- Program parameters and perform initial setup for instruments/transmitters used in measuring flow, pressure, temperature levels as required
- Adjust control valves to indicate proper positioning, adjust setting on valve controllers as required to verify operation of analog valves
- Program single loop controllers
- Familiarity with PLC and/or DCS I/O systems
- Troubleshoot issues with 24 VDC Loop Powered devices, verify input signals form discrete devices, verify analog signal operation and 4-20mA Signals
- High school diploma or GED required
- Certification in Instrumentation and/or Instrumentation and Control Apprenticeship preferred
- Completion of an accredited electrical apprenticeship program or trade school a plus
- Minimum of 1 to 3 years’ experience in an industrial maintenance environment
- Experience with working on equipment and systems utilized in hazardous locations is a plus
- PLC and HMI experience a plus
- Possess basic understanding of programmable logic controllers and distributed process control systems
- Effective communication and good interpersonal skills
- Ability to work unsupervised and work on own initiative
- Willing to work overtime
- Serve on the On Call rotation
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
- Must be computer literate
- Capable of climbing, balancing, kneeling, bending, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, and carrying in performance of work activities
