Responsible for placing safety as #1 priority in day to day work routine for self and others. Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the heating and cooling system and other mechanical, electrical, and plumbing system equipment as well as general maintenance of the building(s) and grounds. Also responsible for the inspection and maintenance of fleet vehicles.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school equivalence
Basic knowledge with building systems including electrical, plumbing, heating or cooling systems normally acquired through two years’ experience working with similar equipment.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Must take all measures necessary to protect networks, devices, programs and data from cyber-attack, damage or unauthorized access.
Required to maintain a valid driver’s license.
Obtain a boilers license within six months of employment.
Must be available to respond to emergency calls after-hours and on weekends.
Successful applicants will not be allowed to bid outside the department for a minimum of 18 months.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate degree in applied science with emphasis on mechanical, electrical, or building systems.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the daily operation, maintenance and functions of various building facilities and systems (heating, cooling, ventilation, electrical, plumbing, etc.) as well as general upkeep and maintenance of building and grounds.
Works with the Operations Accounting Manager to request estimates, schedule, and coordinate outside contractors required for maintenance and repairs for the facilities. This includes, but is not limited to, all types of trade contractors (general, electrical, mechanical, etc.), custodial, and outside services.
Monitors all heating and cooling equipment on a daily basis. Provides information to Operations Accounting Manager when maintenance, repair or replacement is required for all systems and equipment.
Assists with building rearrangements, remodeling and construction.
Responsible for the inspection, maintenance and record keeping of pool vehicles ensuring that vehicles are cleaned, the oil is changed and arrangements made for all necessary repairs. Assists Operations employees with maintenance to individually assigned vehicles.
Responsible for minimal custodial duties on an occasional basis.
Performs other tasks and special projects as assigned.
