Description
PrimeCare Medical, Inc. is looking for a dedicated and hard-working Medical Assistant (CMA) to work as an Administrative Assistant in the medical department at the Franklin County Jail located in Chambersburg, PA.
This is a full-time position working Day Shift (Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM). You must be certified in the state of Pennsylvania as a Medical Assistant to qualify for this role.
Job Responsibilities:
The Medical Assistant /Administrative Assistant will provide full administrative and clerical support to the medical department. Other responsibilities include:
- Handles incoming phone calls from other departments and facilities.
- Schedules all outside appointments and consults.
- Orders all supplies for the Medical Department.
- Collects data for end-of-month reports.
- Filing, faxing, and data entry.
- Strong computer skills with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Maintaining a staff log.
- Scheduling transports.
- Scanning medical files and responding to record requests.
- Working closely with the medical department management team to manage daily tasks.
- Perform initial intake screening on new receptions, take vital signs and complete all appropriate intake forms per written protocol.
- Prepare and maintain examination and treatment areas.
- Obtain lab specimens as ordered and perform various treatments ordered by a provider.

Additional Compensation:
In addition to the hourly pay rate PrimeCare Medical also offers Overtime Pay, Shift Differential and Weekend Differential compensation, Premium Holiday Pay, and Employee Referral Bonus opportunities.
Requirements
- Certified in the state of Pennsylvania as a Medical Assistant
- A minimum of 3 years of office administrative support in a medical setting is preferred.
- Strong computer skills (including Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with medical terms and abbreviations preferred
- Ability to work with confidential matters and information is required
- Strong communication skills; both verbal and written and an ability to interact well with others
- Must be organized with the ability to multi-task and have a willingness to work
- Must be able to deal with difficult people/situations in a calm polite manner
