ABOUT THIS ROLE:
The Desktop Support Analyst II provides technical support for the desktop computing environment at OCP, including advanced troubleshooting of hardware and software issues, software patching, user access rights, and remote access via VPN for both Mac and Windows machines. Also assists in managing the workstation hardware lifecycle.
LOCATION REQUIREMENT:
Please note that this position requires you to reside in the Portland Metro area. While the role offers a hybrid work arrangement, you will be expected to routinely work onsite one to two days per week, or more as needed/requested. Participation in an on-call rotation will also be required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· New user setups, including account creation, group memberships, permissions, and machine build and deployment.
· Manage the Help Desk ticketing system, including triage and escalation, communication and documenting resolutions.
· Assist in managing the workstation hardware lifecycle, including evaluating departmental needs, planning future upgrades, recommending purchases, and deployment of new machines.
· Install and maintain new network printers.
· Provide advanced troubleshooting of software and hardware problems.
· Manage the installation of workstation software.
· Manage workstation patching and updates, including Windows Updates, application patches and version upgrades.
· Manage access to the data, including Microsoft DFS, file system permissions, user accounts, and passwords.
· Prepare documentation of configurations and troubleshooting procedures.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Communicate technological information to users in a friendly and respectful manner.
· Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergency support.
· Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
· Education: High school diploma or vocational equivalent work experience in information technology.
· Experience: Formal training and/or 5 years experience with the Windows and Mac desktop operating systems.
· Experience with a wide variety of desktop software such as email, office suites, accounting packages, etc.
· Experience with hardware such as desktops, laptops, smartphones, switches, routers, etc.
· Other skills needed include planning, documentation, time management, and estimation.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
· Certifications: CompTIA A+ and/or Network+, ACMT
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Estimated starting pay range between $65,000-$69,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
