Responsibilities
HVAC Technicians will have the experience, skills, and knowledge to perform:
· Installation of high and low-pressure steam and condensate systems (steam heating, radiators, circulating pumps, etc.)
· Operate and understand the purpose of relief valves, check valves, pressure reducing valves, shut off valves, expansion joints and similar devices and how these items control flow, pressure, circulation, and expansion within these systems.
· Plan and layout mechanical systems and locate equipment as to placement and elevation of components.
· Read and interpret engineering drawings; set up piping routing; locate and cut openings through obstacles; place hangers at proper pitch and elevations; determine placement and elevation of condensate collection tanks, pressure reducing devices, risers, drip legs and control valves.
· Skilled in the use of all hand and power tools of the plumbing and mechanical (HVAC) trades.
· Skilled in renovation, repairs, and retrofitting work using proper federal, state, and local guidelines and priorities obtained from the Utility Management Supervisor and Work Leaders.
· Ensures work in progress for compliance with established standards, schedules, and guidelines.
· Maintenance of mechanical systems inclusive of pumps, vacuums, and air handling units.
· Replacements of belts and lubricating systems.
· Replacement of ceiling tiles in the event of leaks and floods.
· If necessary, collaborate with other technicians and contractors to complete projects.
· Preventative maintenance based on best practice and manufacturer’s recommendations.
· Follows work assignments and verifies progress of work assigned.
· Follows all safety protocols and regulations when working on HVAC systems.
· Ability to determine causes of work delays.
· Filing reports on completion of tasks.
· Maintain a clean driving record.
Requirements
Certified HVAC technician with license within the state of Georgia. Must maintain up standing license throughout contract.
Ten years of commercial experience.
OSHA 30 certification required and renewed every year.
Proven experience as an HVAC Technician or similar role.
Knowledge of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
Skilled in the use of all hand and power tools of the plumbing and mechanical (HVAC) trades.
Skilled in renovation, repairs, and retrofitting work using proper federal, state, and local guidelines and priorities obtained from the Utility Management Supervisor and Work Leaders.
Excellent problem-solving & customer service skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Valid driver's license.
