About the opportunity As our new Automation Assurance Manager, you’ll be at the heart of shaping the future of parcel delivery at Australia Post. Sitting within the Infrastructure & Asset team of Network Operations, this role reports to the Senior Program Manager – South, while working closely with our Senior Manager of Innovation & Automation—giving you a front-row seat (and steering wheel!) in driving automation across our network.This role will require flexibility to work both in the office and onsite. You’ll be based primarily out of our Port Melbourne, Richmond, and Tullamarine offices, with an expectation of 3–5 days a week onsite as required. In addition, you’ll spend time on site during installation phases and significant time during final commissioning and testing. Interstate travel may also be required to support projects across the country.You’ll:Lead advancements in parcel delivery tech that make things safer, smarter, and faster.Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors to design and implement automation solutions—some tied to $100M+ investments.Provide technical assurance, oversight, and governance across major projects.Help shape technology strategies that power our network into the future. What you’ll deliver with us In this role, you’ll be the driving force behind how automation comes to life across our network. You’ll:Shape strategic automation projects by reviewing designs, validating proposals, and ensuring solutions are efficient, safe, and cost-effective.Partner with vendors and internal teams to deliver large-scale automation solutions that meet budgets, timelines, and quality standards.Evaluate and negotiate with automation vendors, ensuring we get the best value and outcomes from every partnership.Analyse workflows, identify bottlenecks, and bring forward smart solutions that boost efficiency across the entire parcel lifecycle—from processing centres to last-mile delivery.Assess emerging technologies like robotics, AI, IoT, and autonomous vehicles—and provide insights on their potential application to our network.Support change management and training so our people can confidently adopt new technologies and ways of working.Lead with a “One Team” mindset, building a culture of safety, collaboration, and innovation.About you We’re open to candidates from different backgrounds who bring the right expertise.
