This position is funded for 20 months; continuation past 20 months will be based on university need, performance, and/or availability of funding.
POSITION SPECIFICS
The Office of Financial Aid at Penn State DuBois invites applications for a Financial Aid Specialist to provide service to our students and families and assist in the administration of financial aid. This position will report to the Senior Supervisor of Financial Aid under the Office of Enrollment Management.
This is a limited-term contract running through Spring 2027.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintaining a strong working knowledge of federal, state, and University financial aid regulations, policies, and procedures
Providing telephone, email correspondence, in-person, and virtual advising to students/families regarding financial aid
Providing administrative support to the campus scholarship program, and financial aid support to the study abroad program
Working closely with admission counselors at admission events, presentations, campus visits, and individual appointments
Collaborating with the Registrar and Finance offices

Proficiency in student information systems, Microsoft Word, and Excel are preferred
MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree 3+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None
QUALIFICATIONS
Prior higher education financial aid administration is preferred
Excellent writing, oral, presentation, interpersonal and organizational skills are required
Experience with Financial Aid databases is preferred.

This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.Penn State does not sponsor or take over sponsorship of a staff employment Visa. SALARY & BENEFITS
The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $46,400.00 - $67,300.00.
