General Purpose of the Job

At DaVita, we are a "Community First, and a Company Second." The Village Giving Specialist plays a vital role in bringing this philosophy to life. This position is responsible for the central administrative functions of Village Giving. This teammate will be the operational backbone of Village Giving, ensuring the smooth execution of donation processing, sponsorship fulfillment, vendor management, and budget tracking, enabling DaVita to make a meaningful impact in the communities we serve.

Key Responsibilities

Program & Grants Administration

  • Manage the day-to-day administrative operations of Village Giving programs through our grants and volunteer management platform, Benevity.

  • Process and track all incoming charitable donations and sponsorship requests from community organizations.

  • Support the annual DaVita Day of Giving campaign by managing grant requests, coordinating communications, preparing data reports, and coordinating with the vendor for fund disbursement.

  • Administer the Dollars for Doers program, tracking teammate volunteer hours and processing volunteer rewards and donation matches.

  • Support other Village Giving programs as needed.

Village Giving Council Support

  • Provide primary administrative support to the Village Giving Council, a dedicated group of senior leaders who guide our charitable efforts.

  • Prepare and distribute materials for monthly Council meetings.
     
  • Process all Council funding decisions, including approvals and denials, within the Benevity platform, our giving and volunteer platform.

  • Track action items and ensure follow-up from Council meetings.
     

Vendor Management & Financial Tracking

  • Serve as a key administrative contact for our grants and volunteer platform, Benevity, helping to troubleshoot teammate issues and ensure platform optimization.

  • Initiate and track payments to nonprofit partners, coordinating with Benevity and DaVita’s internal Accounts Payable team to ensure timely disbursement.

  • Assist with budget tracking and financial reconciliation for all Village Giving programs.
     

Communications & Sponsorship Fulfillment

  • Partner with the Communications team by providing data, program updates, and success stories for internal and external storytelling.  

  • Manage sponsorship fulfillment to ensure all benefits are executed, including brand recognition and event participation. Also support the DaVita Table network to fill DaVita sponsored tables.
     
  • Assist in drafting and reviewing communications and graphics for giving campaigns, volunteer events, and program announcements.
     
  • Manage the Village Giving inbox, fielding questions from internal and external partners.

Education and Requirements

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in program administration, corporate social responsibility, nonprofit operations, or a related field.
  • Experience with grants management software is highly preferred; specific experience with Benevity is a strong plus.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail, with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and data analytics experience.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and collaborative tools such as Smartsheet.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different teams and with external partners.
  •  Proactive, self-starting attitude with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • A passion for social impact, volunteerism, and helping communities thrive.

Travel and Time Requirements

  • Approx. 3-5 times a year

Language Skills: Fluent in the written and verbal skills necessary to successfully perform the essential functions, duties, and responsibilities of the position.

Work Environment: Hybrid work environment with expectation to be in-office a minimum of two days of week. Denver-based teammate preferred.  

Physical Demands: Physical requirements can vary. These must be reviewed with management. However, in general, the position requires the following activities: 

  • Ability to lift minimum of 5 lbs to a max of 50 lbs unassisted and able to stand, sit, stoop, walk, stretch, reach, and use full range of body motions. 
  • Manual dexterity as required for specific equipment and ability to use computer keyboard and peripherals.

The Salary Range for the role is $56,500.00 - $100,000.00 per year.
