Introduction

Roles and Responsibilities
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Software Quality Engineer Intern to join our team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in software quality engineering while contributing to the development, testing and stabilizing of our internal quality tools. The Intern will work closely with Quality and Excellence (Q&E) Software Engineers and will have cross functional interaction with other teams as well to ensure that our tools meets functional, performance and reliability standards.
Support the development, testing and stabilization of our internal quality tools
Assist in writing, executing and automating test cases to validate functionality
Collaborate with the team to identify, document and resolve bugs
Contribute to code reviews and provide feedback on quality improvements
Help enhance documentation, test reports and quality metrics related to the tool
Participate in Q&E group meeting and provide detail updates
Education and Experience
Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related technical field
Strong foundation in programming languages (ie Java spring boot, my SQL, react Python, C++,)
Familiarity with software testing methodologies (ie unit, modular, integration, regression, etc.)
Analytical mindset with good problem solving and debugging skills
Familiarity with automation frameworks or quality tools (ie SonarQube, etc.) is a plus

Other Information
This position is located on-site in San Jose, California. It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation
Routinely required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach and stretch
Occasionally required to move around the campus
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
Must be willing to work in a clean room environment, wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses and gloves for entire duration of shift
The current hourly range for this role is currently $18.00 - $56.00. Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.

The current base annual salary range for this role is currently $17.00 - $53.00. Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.
