The Infrastructure Administrator is responsible for system design, build, testing, validation, maintenance, and ongoing support of all infrastructure components. This position is also responsible for implementing appropriate technologies and processes to ensure data integrity, disaster recovery, and security of all infrastructure. The Infrastructure Administrator is an active team member performing other duties as needed, including Tier 2 Service Desk escalation, project resourcing, operational support, and advanced troubleshooting.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, build, validate and maintain detailed system configurations.
  • On an ongoing basis, upgrade software/applications as required.
  • Create, update, and maintain systems and application documentation.
  • Maintain user configurations, maintain software as requested, maintain printers and printer configuration, maintain server profiles, maintain group membership, maintain login scripts.
  • Manage, upgrade, modify security standards. All desktop application upgrades, as they become available, should be researched, and tested before implementing.
  • Review and implement approved change requests to the systems, adhering to the established guidelines for system change control.
  • Perform or arrange for repair of equipment; manage third party support and repair of equipment.
  • Demonstrate systems and application expertise during workflow design, validation sessions, integrated work sessions, and on-going system optimization.
  • Perform integrated application testing using structured test scripts, document results and follow up on identified issues.
  • Coordinate and troubleshoot application/system issue tracking and work with teams to escalate and resolve issues.
  • Ensure system documentation and knowledge base articles are being generated and maintained to current standards.
  • Monitor system performance and report any potential issues to the appropriate staff and managers.
  • Remain current with trends in healthcare technology by actively seeking new information regarding systems software and hardware functionality.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, sit or stand for extended periods of time, and be able to type and operate a computer terminal.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
  • Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with Center and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.
  • Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility.
  • Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process.


REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION

  • Four-year college degree with a major in Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, a similar related major degree, or equivalent experience.

REQUIRED MINIMUM CERTIFICATION

  • No professional certifications required.

RECOMMENDED MINIMUM CERTIFICATION

  • One or more of the following:
  • Microsoft Certifications in M365 or Azure Certifications
  • VMWare VCP/VCAP
  • Nutanix NCA/NCP
  • Cisco CCNA/CCNP

REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

  • Five years of experience as an infrastructure administrator.

REQUIRED MINIMUM SKILLS

  • Knowledge of Windows Server and Workstation based software required.
  • Knowledge of virtual computing is required.
  • Knowledge of UNIX systems desirable.
  • Knowledge of Cisco networks helpful.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills a must for user support.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - One or more of the following:

  • Microsoft Certifications for M365 or Azure
  • VMWare VCP/VCAP
  • Nutanix NCA/NCP
