Summary: Acting as a consultant to the business, this role assists with the implementation of HR Programs to develop exceptional employee engagement in alignment with business and cultural objectives. This role provides core human resources support to the client groups, particularly in the areas of performance management, team building, investigations, change management, leadership development, and discipline.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as first point of contact to Team Members and internal client groups regarding general human resources related questions/issues providing accurate and appropriate information or guidance, or escalates when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with the Training Department to provide input for development and subject matter expert support for managing Team Member performance
  • Collaborate with department managers and Team Members to develop effective communications, working relationships, and behaviors/competencies that drive the desired culture change.
  • Prepare, maintain, and track employee relations issues and outcomes. Make recommendations to improve culture and Team Member experience.
  • Assist with document preparation and attend UC Hearings, acting as the employer representative.
  • Facilitate meetings to provide guidance on performance counseling, disciplinary actions and terminations. Facilitates conflict resolution.
  • Guide Department Managers through Team Member survey action planning and follow up.
  • Provide guidance and interpretation of policies, procedures and employment law. Assist and guide managers in understanding how to properly document, communicate and enforce them appropriately.
  • Monitor employee relations issues to ensure compliance with the Team Member Handbook policies and procedures, federal, state and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Handles and assists when requested with Team Member investigations, from start to finish within the required time working with other resources as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in human resources management, business, or equivalent field preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of Human Resources experience preferred
  • Positive approach to the workplace.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and oral at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to quickly establish strong working relationships are key.
  • Sense of urgency.
  • Proficient in Google Suites or equivalent.
  • Must be able to work with and maintain high levels of confidential information in a professional manner.

Certifications:

  • Must be able to obtain a Pennsylvania Gaming License.  Rivers Casino will assist in the application process and pays the fee associated with this license.

 Physical Requirements:

  • Regular bending, stretching, twisting, and reaching
  • Ability to use a computer, interpret documents, and read, write, and speak in English
  • Ability to comprehend complex information and prepare written reports
