The Production Scheduler / Process Coordinator is responsible for a number of diverse activities surrounding the Manufacturing-Production processes and functions. These activities include but are not limited to upkeep of the Production Scheduling system (Epicor), the creation (opening) and closing of relevant Work Orders.  The position will also assist the Production Team with Epicor issues that may arise as it relates to Time Entry and Material needs.  The employee will also assist with the processing of ECR’s within the Epicor System.  In short, the employee will be the Subject Matter Expert as it related to our Production Process and Epicor.

Where is the work:

This position has been designated as On-Site. 

What you will do:   

  • Create and launch production work orders in the ERP based on MRP requirements, Sales projections, and stock minimums.
  • Set up jobs for equipment orders per the Equipment Order documentation within 24 hours of release of equipment order from Sales.
  • Set up Internal Stocking Orders as requested by management – usually the work orders should be set up the same day for purchasing requirements.  Review on-hand availability to avoid setting up unnecessary jobs.
  • Take appropriate actions with the daily MRP report
  • Maintain the schedule within Epicor and work closely with the Production Manager to ensure that the schedule is obtainable.
  • Maintain and update work order start dates when set up and as the schedule changes.
  • Ensure the Resource Groups within the ERP System are maintained and updated as required.
  • Close jobs within the ERP System once the work has been reported as completed.
  • Ensure that the subassemblies have been properly completed.
  • Ensure that all material has been properly issued prior to completion of the job
  • Gather the completed job packets at the end of each day after entering labor.
  • Close spare parts jobs (red job packets) timely to allow for same day shipping, if necessary.
  • Cancel unneeded work orders.
  • Compare standard labor hours in the ERP system to actual hours update Bill of Material and Work Order Routings as required.
  • Run and review job cost reports from the ERP system.  Be able to explain variances in hours and cost.  Update monthly Cost by Model spreadsheet.
  • Prepare and maintain procedures/work instructions for the activities listed above.
  • Assist with the processing of ECR’s.
  • Based on disposition from engineering determine what type of work is required
  • Update bill of materials on jobs to match the drawing
  • Notify purchasing if parts on purchase order are changing
  • Notify stock room of parts to be pulled for rework, provide department doing the rework a copy of ECR and drawings
  • Make sure all leads/supervisors are handed updated paperwork and asked to remove their old revisions
  • Update the Engineering change log in the G-drive

What you will bring:

  • Bachelors in Business Management or commensurate experience.
  • Training in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is required      
  • Three to five years’ experience in dynamic office and/or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to multi-task under ever-changing direction.

This role has been designated by the Company as Safety Sensitive. 

Compensation:   

Base Pay Range: $55,000 - $95,000

Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, and geographic location where the work is performed.
