    ART TEACHER
    REPORTS TO: Junior-Senior High School Administration
    PAY TYPE: Contract, Non-Supervisory
    PAY RATE: Based upon the WLCSC Master Teacher Contract (see attachment)
    BENEFITS: Eligible (see attachment)
    SCHEDULE: 183 Days; Follows school calendar

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Plan and deliver engaging instruction in a variety of visual arts mediums
    • Teach and apply core artistic concepts
    • Support creative expression and critical thinking in students of diverse abilities
    • Communicate regularly with families and school staff regarding student progress

    JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
    • Education, Training, and Experience Required:
      • Bachelor’s Degree
      • Valid Indiana Secondary Teacher’s License in Art Education (grades 7-12) or pending licensure
      • Displays excellent communication skills and professional demeanor
      • Experience working in a school environment preferred
    • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics:
      • Strong knowledge of visual arts content, techniques, and instructional best practices
      • Displays positive and enthusiastic attitude
      • Ability to work as a team with other staff
      • Ability to work collaboratively with a dynamic and diverse educational community
      • Experience with blended, project-based teaching methodologies and technology-based instruction
      • Displays dependability and punctuality
      • Preferred willingness to sponsor an extracurricular group/team

    WORKING CONDITIONS:
    • Position works indoors in a typical school classroom environment
    • Occasional lifting of materials and usage of art tools and supplies
    • May work near others, often within a few feet
    • May occasionally be exposed to noise levels that are distracting
