Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Lead safety initiatives across the region by promoting safety culture, monitoring compliance, participating in driver safety meetings, and ensuring adherence to DOT and company safety policies.
  • Collaborate with Terminal Managers to develop and achieve annual targets for revenue growth, capacity, and safety performance.
  • Oversee profit and loss for each terminal, conduct regular performance reviews, address areas for improvement, and recognize achievements.
  • Partner with Corporate departments to resolve operational and financial issues, including reducing accounts receivable, managing negative balances, and maintaining revenue targets.
  • Provide leadership to both company-operated and agent terminals with a focus on customer satisfaction, driver engagement, and vendor relationships.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and manage performance for terminal staff, agents, and drivers to meet service and operational standards.
  • Ensure all team members are trained and operate in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Develop efficient regional work schedules to ensure smooth workflow and monitor employee performance for accuracy, professionalism, and policy compliance.
  • Offer support and guidance to Terminal Managers in resolving escalated issues, operational challenges, and customer complaints.
  • Review and act on operational metrics to ensure alignment with service expectations and performance benchmarks.
  • Continuously identify and implement improvements in operations, customer service, and regional efficiency.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Regional Operations or Safety Manager in the transportation industry, plus 3–5 years as a Terminal Manager.
  • Extensive safety management experience with a focus on DOT compliance.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%, including overnight stays in or around the region.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to manage and develop staff and build effective working relationships.
  • Knowledge of transportation equipment, including various truck types and accessories.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and multi-tasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
