Continuous Improvement Engineer

Kysor-Warren Epta – Columbus, Georgia

As a key member of our Industrialization and Operations team, you will play a vital role in driving operational excellence across manufacturing and assembly processes for commercial refrigeration systems. Join us and help shape the future of sustainable, efficient, and innovative manufacturing practices.

Your contribution:
  • Lead and support Lean manufacturing initiatives, including 5S, Kaizen events, value stream mapping, and waste elimination.
  • Analyze production workflows, assembly line balancing, and takt time to identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to implement process changes and monitor effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain visual management tools and standard work documentation.
  • Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality and process issues.
  • Support digital transformation efforts, including MES integration, data collection, and real-time performance tracking.
  • Train and mentor team members on CI tools to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Track and report on KPIs such as OEE, first-pass yield, and downtime reduction.
Your journey:

You bring strong problem-solving, facilitation, and project management skills to a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Additionally, you have the following:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in HVAC or refrigeration systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher preferred).
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP) and MES platforms.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, Power BI, and Minitab.
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.

Preferred skills:

  • Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication, brazing, and assembly line processes.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 and quality management systems.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD or SolidWorks for layout and process design.
  • Understanding of safety and environmental compliance in manufacturing.
