Lead Medical Assistant
The Lead Medical Assistant (MA) is a multi-skilled allied health professional, dedicated to assisting in all aspects of the PACE clinic. The Lead Medical Assistant provides overall clinic support that ensures the PACE Clinic runs effectively. The Lead Medical Assistant is responsible for administrative and clinical tasks, such as maintaining patient records, preparing participants and rooms for examinations, assisting physicians with exams, and order processing. In addition, this role will serve as a mentor to new and existing Medical Assistant(s) for training, education, and clinical resources.
What is PACE?
PACE or Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly is a federal and state funded program that provides comprehensive, coordinated, and proactive whole-person care to help maintain and improve seniors' health so they can live safely in their homes. There are 180 PACE programs, serving more than 80,700 participants in 33 states.
The number of people aged 55+ is increasing in Grand Junction, CO and the demand for eldercare professionals is on the rise.
What You Bring:
- Holds and maintains a current Medical Assistant Certification or Registration throughout employment (Registered Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant)
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working as a Medical Assistant required, 8 years’ experience preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a primary care clinic required.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience training and/or teaching Medical Assistants required, 3-4 years preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working (paid or volunteer) with the elderly required.
- Current CPR certification maintained throughout employment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Effectively and respectfully communicate both verbally and in writing in a multitude of situations and settings, including highly emotional interactions.
- Effectively work with and build relationships with others.
- The ability to clearly explain and break down complex concepts to others.
- Effectively evaluate learner performance and provide constructive feedback as needed.
- Excellent computer and technology skills.
What We Offer:
- Competitive pay structure starting at $22.59-$25.00 per hour, depending on experience.
- Full-time hours, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm.
