Howard & Howard Attorneys is seeking an Intellectual Property Fees Specialist to manage and oversee the payment and tracking of global IP-related fees, including patent annuities, renewals, and maintenance fees. This role is critical to ensuring compliance with international IP regulations and maintaining the integrity of our IP portfolio. This position supports functions of our Intellectual Property Administration team and reports to the IP Administration Manager.

This position will be responsible for various administrative functions within the department, some of which include:

  • Monitor and manage deadlines for IP fee payments across multiple jurisdictions. 
  • Coordinate with external agents, law firms, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely fee payments. 
  • Maintain accurate records of fee payments, due dates, and related documentation in IP management systems. 
  • Ensure proper allocation of costs to relevant cost centers or business units. 
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting IP-related expenses. 
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in fee payments or records. 
  • Stay current with changes in IP fee structures and regulations globally. 
  • Support audits and reporting related to IP fee management. 
  • Collaborate with the legal and finance teams to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

  • 1+ year experience in IP fee management
  • Familiarity with global IP systems and fee structures (USPTO, EPO, WIPO, etc.).
  • Experience with IP management software (e.g., Anaqua, CPI Global, Foundation IP, etc.) is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of patent and trademark lifecycle processes. 
  • Experience working in a multinational or law firm environment. 
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position; bachelor’s degree is preferred.
