Cooper Farms is currently seeking a Corporate Payroll Manager to join our Corporate team. This position will work out of our Fort Recovery, Ohio location.
The primary goal of this position is to oversee and direct payroll operations, ensuring efficient, timely, and accurate processing while maintaining compliance with legal tax laws and regulations.
LOCATION: Corporate position - Fort Recovery, Ohio
SHIFT HOURS: Monday through Friday (salary role)
STARTING RATE: From $75,000/yr
ADDITIONAL PAY: Monthly and year-end profit-sharing bonuses (dependent upon company performance)
Job Functions:
- Oversee and ensure accurate, efficient and timely processing of all functions of payroll, including but not limited to wages, benefits, garnishments, taxes, deductions, reimbursements, etc.
- Ensure the company adheres to all federal, state and local tax regulations and labor laws related to payroll
- Lead and train payroll staff, assign responsibilities and provide guidance to ensure company and department goals are met
- Develop a team of system experts who explore, test and implement software solutions
- Manage, maintain and upgrade payroll systems, processes, procedures and software, ensuring accurate and compliant timekeeping and payroll data
- Work closely with HR, Accounting and other departments to ensure smooth payroll operations
- Address, resolve and follow-up on payroll-related issues, discrepancies and questions in a timely and accurate manner
- Remain informed about changes in payroll laws, regulations and best practices
- Work with HR, Accounting and UKG teams to improve payroll processes
- Lead annual payroll planning strategic meeting
- Support internal benefit programs that require payroll processing, payment, deductions, etc.
- Prepare and organize reports related to payroll, as required
- Administer company retirement plan funding, distribution, and annual audit process
