WHAT YOU WILL DO:

As an Executive AV Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring seamless audiovisual experiences for executive-level meetings and events. You will provide white-glove technical support, maintain AV systems, and collaborate closely with the Executive Support team to deliver high-quality service in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • On-going communication with the Executive Support team, as it relates to assigned calls, day-to-day functions operations, scheduling, and any video conferencing related issues
  • Responsible for audio visual - video conferencing systems maintenance and troubleshooting of executive conference rooms 
  • Provides real-time video conferencing white glove technical support
  • Responsible for opening, tracking, and resolving tasks 
  • Assist with Move/Add/Changes requests
  • Monitoring of video conferencing calls on end user event sites
  • Executive conference room equipment swaps as needed to maintain service levels
  • Break/Fix and RMA request management
  • Audio Visual - video conferencing group support process development 
  • Video conferencing room hardware installation and maintenance, ability to quickly replace and install key pieces of hardware to endure minimum downtime
  • Adherence and development of SOPs to reflect best practices
  • Immediate response to executive team regarding supported executives during working hours, i.e. 8AM-5PM
  • Hours of operation are normally 8AM to 5PM with occasional outside of hours and weekend support

SKILLS:

  • Advanced Technical Proficiency:
    • Mastery of audiovisual equipment such as projectors, sound systems, microphones, video conferencing systems, lighting controls, and presentation software
    • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly and efficiently.
    • In-depth knowledge of audiovisual equipment, systems, and components, including but not limited to projectors, displays, audio mixers, switchers, codecs, and control systems.
    • Proficiency in configuring and programming AV control systems, such as Cisco, Crestron, AMX, Extron, or similar platforms, to automate and streamline AV operations.
    • Familiarity with advanced audio processing techniques, including equalization, dynamics processing, and acoustic tuning, to optimize sound quality in diverse environments.
    • Understanding of video conferencing solutions, including SIP/H.323 protocols, network configurations, and interoperability with different platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex).
    • Familiarity with various AV interfaces and protocols, including HDMI, VGA, DisplayPort, and Dante audio networking.
    • Knowledge of signal flow, video resolutions, aspect ratios, and audio mixing techniques.
  • Complex Troubleshooting Skills:
    • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to AV equipment, system integrations, network connectivity, and software applications.
    • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and test equipment, such as multimeters, signal generators, and network analyzers, to identify root causes of AV failures and performance issues.
    • Experience in troubleshooting audio and video synchronization problems, signal degradation, latency issues, and compatibility issues between different AV devices
  • Event Management Skills:
    • Experience in setting up and configuring AV equipment for meetings, conferences, and special events.
    • Proficiency in coordinating logistics, including equipment delivery, setup, and teardown, to ensure seamless execution of events.
    • Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt to last-minute changes or unforeseen technical challenges.
    • Attention to detail to ensure that all AV setups meet the specific requirements and preferences of executive
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
    • Strong interpersonal skills to interact professionally and effectively with executives, colleagues, and external vendors.
    • Capacity to remain calm and composed under pressure, while providing exemplary customer service and support.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities:
    • Critical thinking skills to analyze complex AV setups, diagnose issues, and implement effective solutions.
    • Resourcefulness in finding alternative methods or workarounds to address technical challenges in real-time.
    • Proactive approach to identify potential issues before they escalate and implement preventive measures to minimize disruptions during executive meetings
  • Configuration & Programming:
    • Configure and program AV systems to meet specific project requirements and client needs.
    • Customize user interfaces and control systems for ease of use.
    • Ensure AV systems are compatible with various devices and platforms.
  • System Integration:
    • Plan and execute the installation of AV equipment, including audio systems, video conferencing solutions, and control systems.
    • Integrate AV solutions with existing IT infrastructure, including network and control systems, to ensure seamless functionality.
    • Conduct thorough testing of installed systems to verify performance and resolve any technical issues.
  • Client Interaction & Training:
    • Provide on-site support and guidance to clients during system deployment.
    • Conduct training sessions for end-users to ensure they are comfortable with AV systems and equipment.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during and after system installation, addressing any questions or issues.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
    • Create and maintain detailed documentation on system installations, configurations, and user instructions.
    • Report project progress, issues, and solutions to management and clients.
    • Track inventory, equipment lifecycle, and system performance for future upgrades and maintenance.
  • Security and Confidentiality Awareness:
    • Understanding of cybersecurity best practices to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive information transmitted through AV systems.
    • Adherence to company policies and protocols regarding data privacy and protection, particularly in executive-level meetings where confidential information may be discussed
  • Continuous Learning and Adaptability:
    • Willingness to stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in AV technology through ongoing training, certifications, and professional development.
    • Flexibility to adapt to evolving AV requirements and preferences of executives, incorporating new technologies and methodologies to enhance the overall user experience
  • Professionalism:
    • As an executive AV Engineer, understands the importance of always maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Attention to Detail:
    • Pays close attention to the smallest of details to ensure that every aspect of an executive's AV setup is perfect. From checking microphone levels to adjusting projector resolutions, leaves no stone unturned

    • Understands the sensitive nature of executive meetings and respects the confidentiality of clients. Operates with the utmost discretion and professionalism

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • 5+ years of experience in Executive AV support with white-glove service
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to coach and mentor others
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills, with comfort delivering messaging to executive stakeholders
  • Strong self-motivation and accountability in a fast-paced, independent environment
  • Creative and methodical approach to technical problem-solving
  • Knowledge of Cisco (Control Hub, WebEx), MS Teams, and AV/VC hardware and signal flow
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams
  • Continuous improvement mindset

DESIRABLE CRITERIA:

  • CTS certification
  • Understanding of managed service delivery and its nuances
