Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Recovery Room Nurse to join our team. In this role, you will provide specialized nursing care in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) to patients recovering from elective cosmetic surgery. You will play a vital role in ensuring each patient’s comfort, safety, and readiness for discharge after their procedure.

In this role, you will provide specialized nursing care in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) to patients recovering from elective cosmetic surgery. You will play a vital role in ensuring each patient’s comfort, safety, and readiness for discharge after their procedure.




Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care during the immediate post-anesthesia recovery period.
  • Admit patients to recovery, receive hand-off from anesthesia, and monitor condition throughout.
  • Assess and monitor vital signs, dressings, IVs, drains, and overall recovery needs.
  • Respond to urgent situations, including initiating and maintaining CPR when necessary.
  • Ease patient anxiety, provide reassurance, and respect dignity and privacy.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, CRNAs, and surgical staff to ensure seamless care.
  • Evaluate patient readiness for discharge and provide recovery instructions.
  • Accurately document assessments, interventions, and physician directions.
  • Maintain readiness of recovery area, including equipment and supplies.
  • Participate in Quality Management and Performance Improvement programs.
  • Support communication with patients’ families in a professional and compassionate manner.
  • Engage in continuing education and attend center meetings to maintain competency.


  • Qualifications
  • Current Minnesota Registered Nurse (R.N.) license.
  • Current CPR and ACLS certification.
  • Prior PACU or ICU nursing experience strongly preferred; ambulatory surgery experience a plus.
  • Strong assessment skills and the ability to respond effectively in emergent situations.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a patient-centered approach.
