Want to bring ideas to life?

You're in the right place. We've been a leading design, engineering and advisory company for decades. So why choose Aurecon? It really comes down to one, crucial question: what kind of world do you want to create for the next generation? Truth is, the decisions being made right now will determine the future of everything - from the local community to the sustainability of our clients' businesses - to the entire planet. One of those decisions is: who do you decide to work for?

How will your ideas contribute to shaping what's next?

Our Adelaide Digital Enablement, Asset Management and Performance team are currently seeking Expressions of Interest from Business Analysts (across junior, mid and senior levels), to work with a group of highly skilled specialists. You'll be a trusted partner to a diverse range of clients in SA and develop a deep understanding of their challenges to co-create innovative solutions that help shape the future.
The work we do is vital to enabling capability, value and operations for our clients. It's the technical expertise and the depth of knowledge of our people that really sets us apart. Here are the key things you will do:

  • Engage stakeholders to elicit, analyse, and validate business requirements using Agile practices such as user stories, epics, backlog refinement, and participation in Scrum ceremonies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional delivery teams — including developers, solution architects, testers, and vendors — to ensure proposed solutions align with business needs and implementation feasibility.
  • Contribute to end-to-end solution design by defining functional, non-functional, interface, and data requirements to support system development and integration.
  • Break down complex business needs into smaller, outcome-focused deliverables (e.g. thinly sliced stories) that can be delivered iteratively within sprints.
  • Manage change requests and prioritisation in partnership with the Product Owner, ensuring traceability and timely approvals throughout the delivery lifecycle.

What are we looking for from you?

Alongside your industry experience in a similar role, you'll also have:

  • Qualifications in technical discipline such as Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or demonstrated experience and relevant certifications in relevant fields (E.G. IIBA certification, Scrum etc).
  • Proven experience in Agile environments, including participation in ceremonies, user story development, backlog refinement, and use of tools like JIRA and Confluence.
  • Strong capability in requirements elicitation, business process mapping, and system improvement, using methodologies such as BABOK, Agile, and Waterfall.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate within cross-functional teams (e.g. developers, testers, SMEs, product owners, vendors) and manage competing stakeholder priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in documenting and managing business and technical requirements, with a focus on enabling secure and scalable solutions.
  • Excellent facilitation, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, including experience managing the user impact of change across technologies, operating models, and business processes.

How will your future be shaped by us?

You really can bring your whole self to work and be confident your voice will be heard. We don't just claim we're inclusive and innovative, as proven by the independent awards and accreditations we've gained. We've been recognised for our innovation culture, gender equality and our LGBTI+ inclusion. Plus, we have a robust Reconciliation Action Plan - our fourth edition since 2014.

Ready to bring ideas to life? Apply to join us!

We appreciate the interest of our agency partners, however we're not engaging external recruitment support for this opportunity at this stage.
