- Stay current with Tecta Safety Program policies, regulations, and operational processes, applying them to daily operations.
- Conduct inspections of jobsites, equipment, tools, and facilities to identify and address hazards while ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Conduct Safety Audits and provide coaching to Operating Unit Safety Representatives in assigned regions.
- Develop and deliver comprehensive safety training and education programs for operating units.
- Plan, organize, and lead monthly Regional Safety meetings and calls.
- Support operating unit Safety Day events.
- Investigate work-related incidents, coordinate with Operating Units to ensure thorough reporting, and communicate findings from investigations and jobsite inspections to corporate leadership.
- Conduct Gap Analyses for Operating Units in assigned regions to identify and address safety program opportunities.
- Support safety-related incidents and claims, including workers’ compensation, general liability, and automobile incidents, to minimize loss exposure while collaborating with the Tecta America loss control team.
- Oversee OSHA interactions, including investigations, determinations, and resolutions.
- Conduct meetings with Safety Leaders to discuss OSHA standards, violations, lessons learned, and potential hazards.
- Resolve disputes regarding safety and risk management issues as needed.
- Recommend and implement safety processes, equipment, and features to reduce workplace hazards. Demonstrate proper use of safety equipment.
- Implement internal communication initiatives to strengthen safety awareness and commitment within the Operating Units.
- Provide bilingual translations of Company communications (English/Spanish) as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Construction Safety and Safety leadership.
- Extensive knowledge of commercial roofing and/or construction, as well as general industry safety and loss control standards, including OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations at local, state, and federal levels.
- Strong desire and ability to spend time on job sites, working directly with Operating Units to identify and eliminate hazards while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.
- Willingness to travel extensively (up to 75%), often with little notice.
- Familiarity with state workers’ compensation statutes.
- Proven ability to lead process improvement projects aimed at eliminating injuries and reducing losses.
- Proficient in utilizing software to track employee and company injury performance, create and deliver safety presentations and training modules, and keep employees informed about safety updates and information.
- Capable of developing customized safe operating procedures and implementing behavior-based safety programs to fully integrate safety into the workplace culture.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
- Completion of OSHA 510 certification.
- Certified OSHA 500 trainer with demonstrated expertise in safety compliance.
- Extensive experience in incident management and thorough incident investigation.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with Human Resources teams.
- Solid background in loss and risk management strategies.
- Skilled at managing high-pressure situations, including safety issues, management challenges, and incident responses.
- Strong critical thinking abilities for analyzing and resolving complex issues.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively.
- Adept at handling difficult situations and facilitating constructive, solution-focused conversations.
