The Fee- for-Service counselor provides direct clinical services to individuals with substance use and co-occurring disorders in accordance with OASAS regulations and agency policies. Services may include, intake, assessments, individual and group counseling, treatment planning, and documentation required for billing and compliance.

  • Conduct intake, screening, and biopsychosocial assessment as assigned.
  • Facilitate individual, group and family counseling sessions as appropriate to scope of practice.
  • Develop, update and review individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients.
  • Provide crisis intervention, relapse prevention, and recovery support strategies.
  • Document all services in the electronic health record (EHR) within 48hours of service with OASAS/Medicaid billing requirement.
  • Participate in case reviews, supervision and team meetings
  • Maintain required certifications, licenses, and continuing education
  • Collaborate with peers, medical staff, and external providers to support integrated care.

  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with auditors, regulatory bodies, clients, staff, colleagues, public, other agencies and their staff and third-party insurance personnel.

Job Knowledge

  • Must have an excellent understanding of state and city OASAS/DOH/ OMH) regulations. Superior written and verbal communication skills are a must.  Successful track record of leading diverse interdisciplinary staff is essential.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • CASAC, CASAC-T, LMSW, LMHC, LCSW limited permit are acceptable.
  • Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders preferred.
  • Knowledge OASAS part 822 regulations and Medicaid FSS billing strongly preferred
  • Strong clinical, documentation, and organization skills
  • Ability to work independently and maintain a flexible schedule.
