Doane Grant Thornton’s Business Transformation Team drives organizational change to enhance firm performance and facilitate the achievement of strategic objectives. We are seeking an experienced Project Manager, Business Transformation to join our National Team based in Toronto focused on driving business transformation projects, aligning business SMES and stakeholders on the delivery of technical projects, and delivering tangible business outcomes. The Business Transformation Project Manager would ensure that deliverables and resources align with company goals. The ideal candidate would be a Project Manager with broad experience leading business transformations with a change management and stakeholder-focused mindset.
As a Project Manager, Business Transformation your responsibilities will include:
⦁ Collaborate with stakeholders to define business transformation objectives at a project level, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and strategic priorities.
⦁ Create charters working closely with stakeholders and project sponsors to define project scope and objectives, desired business outcomes, assumptions, constraints, and risks.
⦁ Monitor the realization of project benefits, ensuring that projects deliver their expected outcomes.
⦁ Undertake multiple projects and manage them throughout the project lifecycle
⦁ Develop and maintain project plan(s) with dependencies, predecessors, and milestones, ensuring appropriate governance and control processes over project changes.
⦁ Proactively manage project schedule and scope, balancing priorities and determining the impact on budget, time and risks.
⦁ Manage project team and stakeholder resources effectively in the planning and execution of the project.
⦁ Manage external vendors and third parties including negotiations, onboarding and execution of Statements of Work.
⦁ Provide project status updates to various stakeholders and chair Steering Committees to facilitate program governance decisions as well as ensuring buy-in for project success.
⦁ Lead project closure initiatives and identify opportunities for continuous improvement through activities such as lessons learned surveys and vendor offboarding.
⦁ Appropriately escalate project challenges, risks and work across teams to ensure appropriate mitigation plans are in place.
⦁ Resolve issues and conflicts, remove barriers, and resolve project issues. Act as an escalation point for potential project risks, challenges, and constraints and document them appropriately.
⦁ Clearly define priorities, roles and responsibilities to ensure collaborative delivery across cross-functional teams, including IT, L&D, Communications, and other teams
⦁ Partner with IT Project Managers on large technology initiatives to ensure end to end delivery
⦁ Assess the impact on all areas of the business and work with Business Transformation Team colleagues to develop thorough change management strategies to ensure successful implementations and high rates of change adoption.
⦁ Facilitate the transition of responsibilities to Business Owners including appropriate knowledge transfer (e.g. documentation and training).
⦁ Coach team members on business transformation and project management methodologies and tools.

Think you’ve got what it takes to be a Strategic Delivery Project Manager? Like the colour purple? Great. Here's a few more boxes we’re also hoping you can tick:
⦁ Bachelor's degree, post-secondary education, and/or equivalent work experience required.
⦁ Project Management Professional (PMP) or comparable certification is preferred.
⦁ 5-7 years of project management experience, with a focus on large business transformation initiatives, process improvements, people transformations, as well as driving the change management, learning and communications components of technology initiatives.
⦁ Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects with competing priorities.
⦁ Experienced user of Project Management and Project Portfolio Management software.
⦁ Possesses a strong knowledge of project management best practices and standards.
⦁ Strong organizational and interpersonal skills for prioritizing projects, managing team members and collaborating with stakeholders.
⦁ Comfortable in working across the organization with existing and new partners and stakeholders.
⦁ Excellent communication and presentation skills, including ability to create and present to all organizational levels.
⦁ Resourceful and innovative, and strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
⦁ Possesses a collaborative, communicative and energizing management style.
⦁ Experience in a professional services firm is an asset.
