The Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute (Meadows Institute) seeks a collaborative and strategic professional to serve as Project Manager, The Hackett Center for Mental Health (Project Manager). The Project Manager supports the work of The Hackett Center for Mental Health. The Project Manager collaborates with staff, contractors, partner agencies, and stakeholders to coordinate, implement, and complete projects, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and strategy. This position is ideal for those interested in mental health, community health, health equity, and health policy. The preferred work location for this position is in Houston, TX. This position may not be filled or performed in California, Colorado, Hawaii, Montana, Rhode Island, Vermont, or Washington at this time. Statewide travel (up to 10%) may be required. Some duties may require access to reliable personal transportation.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage projects from initiation through completion by developing detailed project workplans, timelines, and deliverables.
- Facilitate productive project meetings, including setting meaningful agendas, facilitating discussions, capturing and distributing detailed notes, and tracking follow-up responsibilities.
- Demonstrate ownership of project success by proactively identifying risks, challenges, and dependencies, and recommending practical solutions to keep projects on track.
- Contribute to projects directly by conducting research, drafting reports, and creating content for presentations.
- Provide verbal and written project updates to The Hackett Center leadership and key stakeholders.
- Support communications and fund development, including drafting content for reports, proposals, stakeholders, and media communications.
- Collaborate with the Chief of Staff to monitor budgets, contracts, and resource allocations, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
- Support the continuous improvement of project management processes, tools, and templates to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
- A minimum of two years relevant experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively. This includes overcoming barriers to communication, such as geography, remote work schedules, and time zone differences.
- Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and comfort with virtual collaboration platforms (e.g., Zoom, Teams).
- Capacity to think strategically, critically, and respond analytically.
- Flexibility in working with new issues, topics, and approaches.
- Ability to learn and utilize software to improve work products.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 to 7 years of professional-level experience in a related role.
- Master’s degree.
- Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), or comparable certification.
- Experience using project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Monday.com, Asana, Trello, Smartsheet, or Microsoft Project).
