The Systems Administrator performs a variety of technical duties, including maintenance, upgrades, and support of IT systems and infrastructure. This role is responsible for administering servers, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 services; ensuring system security; supporting endpoint management; planning and testing disaster recovery and backup strategies; and providing technical support to staff. The Systems Administrator partners with IT leadership and peers to implement reliable, secure, and scalable technology solutions that support Mosaic Community Health’s mission.

Development

  • Collaborate with the IT team to design, evaluate, and test new or modified technology solutions.
  • Research, recommend, and implement tools and methods to enhance system performance, security, and efficiency.

Systems Administration

  • Administer and maintain Microsoft Active Directory, Azure AD/Entra, and Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Manage endpoint security and compliance through Intune and other mobile device/endpoint management platforms.
  • Configure, monitor, and support enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Manage and monitor antivirus/endpoint detection and response (AV/EDR) tools.
  • Support email security gateways, ensuring message hygiene and encryption.
  • Plan and coordinate system software releases and updates; test and validate before production deployment.
  • Proactively monitor servers, storage, and systems for performance, availability, and security.
  • Troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and implement permanent solutions.
  • Maintain documentation of configurations, processes, and system inventories.

Training

  • Provide training and guidance to staff on security, privacy, and proper use of IT systems.
  • Develop user guides and technical documentation for supported systems. 

Support

  • Respond to and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
  • Support IT projects and organizational strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with leadership and staff to align IT systems with operational needs.

Work Experience

  • Three or more years of systems administration or IT infrastructure support experience, preferably in a healthcare or regulated environment.

Education, Certification, Licensure

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field preferred.
  • Microsoft, Azure, or related certifications preferred.
  • Valid Oregon Driver’s License.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Proficiency in Microsoft environments including Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure AD/Entra, and Microsoft 365.
  • Experience with endpoint management platforms (Intune or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery technologies.
  • Knowledge of antivirus/EDR and email security gateway tools.
  • Understanding of identity management and access control concepts (e.g., MFA, SSO, Imprivata or similar).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across servers, endpoints, and networking.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and data security regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
