Position Description

Sustainability Analyst 

Permanent, Full Time 
Location: Melbourne 

Major Responsibilities 

REPORTING 

  • Collect, analyse, and manage data and insights for sustainability program 
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement in data interrogation and presentation 
  • Validation and correction of environmental and sustainability data on RightShip’s platform including GHG data (scope 1, 2, 3), air quality data and efficiency metrics 
  • Undertake quality assurance and quality control of product (MEP, GHG) data points to ensure excellent product delivery 
  • Creation and peer review of quality assurance documents to a high standard for customer facing and internal usage. 
  • PromoteRightShip’senvironmental and sustainability offerings to industry, customers, and relevant organizations including Maritime Emissions Portal and GHG Rating 
  • Research, andmonitorindustry environmental and sustainability trends, best practices and identify improvement opportunities to support the deployment of related initiatives 

 

COMPLIANCE 

 

  • Undertake research and educate internal stakeholders and external customers to constantly improve environmental and sustainability outcomes 
  • Ensure RightShip’s environmental and sustainability offerings are in-line with relevant industry guidelines 
  • Support relevant updates and modifications to sustainability offerings as required 
  • Ongoing database and customer data management to ensure accuracy and credibility of dataContribute towards annual submissions for environmental and sustainability surveys and reporting benchmarks 
  • Engage with industry associations and peers on maritime environmental and sustainability matters 

 

 

PROJECT SUPPORT 

  • Provide advice on the application of environmental legislation, policy, and procedures to support sustainability project delivery  
  • Provide administrative support and assist in delivery specific sustainability projects to agreed standards, outcomes, on time and on budget 
  • Work with stakeholders to help develop and evolve RightShip’s digital sustainability products 

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience 

  • Degree qualifications in environmental science, environmental management, data science or related disciplines 
  • Excellent analytical and data processing skills with a strong attention to detail 
  • Be proactive in finding solutions to problems/challenges. 
  • Knowledge in environmental, sustainability & ESG reporting, analysis and data management 
  • Knowledge of environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks. 
  • Proficiency in MS Excel/Word/Power Point with Power BI, DataBricks and GIS also highly regarded 
  • Passionate about supply chain decarbonisation and sustainability
