Your role 

We are looking for a Victorian based leader to join our passionate and experienced team. The successful candidate will have qualifications in Early Childhood Education and Teaching, as well as Post Graduate Qualifications in Special Education. Our Education Support Managers (ESM’s) work with KU services to assist with the inclusion needs of all enrolled children. The purpose of the role is to:

  • Facilitate the effective inclusion of all children in high quality educational programs in KU services
  • Manage the education support needs of KU services
  • Ensure equitable outcomes for children
  • Assist educators to support children’s development
  • Oversee applications for eligible support funding and its implementation

This is a unique and pivotal position working with our Sessional Kindergartens and Long Day Care Services in Victoria. It is a permanent full-time opportunity that requires a significant amount of travel to visit the services. Your time is blended between attending KU’s Services and Working from Home. There is another ESM based in Victoria and this opportunity is to support our Services based across East and South regions of Greater Melbourne. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Contribute positively to the operations of KU and the realisation of the organisational Strategic Plan 
  • Support the Senior Manager, Education and Support with the provision of Education Support to KU services 
  • Support the provision of quality programs and practices in all KU services
  • Facilitate the effective inclusion of all children in KU services 
  • Support KU service teachers and educators to identify children’s abilities and needs
  • Support children and families to access relevant assessment and early childhood intervention
  • Develop and deliver identified training, information and resources

About you

  • A completed degree in early childhood education AND a completed postgraduate in special education or inclusive education. We will consider applicants who are well underway to completing their post graduate qualification.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a leadership/management or Director’s role
  • Knowledge of the early childhood sector, including experience and knowledge of the National Quality Framework
  • Knowledge of the early childhood intervention sector and the current issues affecting service provision
  • Current Employee Working with Children Check
  • Experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook.
  • Experience managing budgets.
  • A driver’s licence and use of a registered and comprehensively insured motor vehicle
