Requirements

 Program Overview

We are supporting the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) under the ISCOM Division to deliver mission-critical IT modernization and cybersecurity services. This effort focuses on enhancing the security, reliability, and efficiency of NTIA’s infrastructure, driving forward their mission of advancing broadband access, data-driven policymaking, and secure communications through modern digital tools and compliance with federal standards.


Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to support operations under the NTIA ISCOM contract. The Senior Systems Administrator will be responsible for installing and configuring software, managing system upgrades, and ensuring system integrity through backup, recovery, and patch management. This individual will also provide guidance to other team members, ensuring system availability, data integrity, and compliance with NTIA requirements.


Core Responsibilities

  • Install new software releases and system upgrades, ensuring seamless integration into existing environments.
  • Evaluate and install security patches and system updates to maintain performance and compliance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software-related problems across enterprise systems.
  • Perform regular system backups and manage disaster recovery processes.
  • Maintain  data files and monitor system configuration to ensure the integrity and security of information systems.
  • Apply industry best practices to proactively monitor and enhance system  performance.
  • Provide technical expertise, leading or directing others as required.
  • Work under general supervision while applying creativity and judgment to accomplish goals.
  • Collaborate with project leaders, managers, and federal stakeholders to support system requirements and enhancements.
  • Support  IA engineering, security assessments, penetration testing, and monitoring 
  • Develop incident response protocols and lead threat hunting operations.
  • Brief leadership on risk assessments and countermeasures.

Provide guidance on CUI protection policies and cyber compliance standards (NIST RMF, FISMA, FedRAMP). 

  

Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s  degree (BS/BA) in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in systems administration.
  • U.S.  Citizenship required/  Active  Secret or Top-Secret clearance.
  • Experience  with system backup, recovery, and configuration management.
  • Strong  troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity  with standard system administration concepts, practices, and procedures.

    

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced  certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Red Hat   Certified Engineer (RHCE), or equivalent).
  • Prior  experience supporting Department of Commerce, NTIA, or other federal civilian agencies.
  • Experience leading or mentoring junior system administrators.
  • Familiarity  with cloud-based or hybrid infrastructure environments.
