Research Specialist- Media Technology
We are seeking a highly motivated Research Specialist (Media Technology) with expertise in nonwoven materials and polymer processing to join our team at the forefront of filtration technology innovation. In this pivotal role, you will drive the development of next-generation filtration solutions—taking concepts from the lab bench all the way to full-scale manufacturing.
As a key member of our R&D team, you will work on cutting-edge projects involving polymer blends, fiber spinning, fiber modification, and meltblown technologies. Collaborating closely with experts in research, product development, and manufacturing, you will transform your ideas into tangible, high-performance products that make a real-world impact.
Responsibilities
- Lead research projects on polymer blending, fiber spinning, fiber modification and melt-blown nonwovens.
- Scale innovative processes from laboratory/pilot to full-scale production.
- Perform advanced materials characterization and performance testing to guide product optimization.
- Design and validate test systems for filtration media and sorbent applications.
- Author technical reports, patent applications, and proposals to advance filtration technologies.
- Provide technical guidance to other engineers.
Qualifications
Education
- Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, required.
Experience
- Research in polymer blending, polymer processing, and functional fiber technologies.
- Hands-on experience with melt blowing, extrusion, or fiber spinning processes.
- Proficiency in materials characterization techniques (e.g., SEM, DSC/TGA, rheology, spectroscopy, chromatography, scattering).
- Proven track record of publications, patents, or applied industrial research.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Base salary range: $98,592 - $147,888
Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
