Position Summary:

As a Transportation Driver, you will play a vital role in delivering our AAA Four Diamond and Gun Lake Casino Resort’s “Unsurpassed Service” standards by ensuring safe, timely, and courteous transport for our guests. Your responsibilities will include inspecting and maintaining the shuttle bus, adhering to all driving regulations, and providing guests with information about the resort’s promotions and specials. Your role is crucial in creating a positive first and last impression for our guests, contributing to their overall satisfaction and experience. By ensuring the safety and satisfaction of our guests during their transportation experience, you will contribute significantly to the overall success and reputation of our resort.

In this Role:

  • Inspect the bus before and after each shift and complete the shuttle bus inspection report accurately.
  • Ensure the shuttle bus is clean, safe, and ready for use at the start of each shift.
  • Be thoroughly familiar with the operation of the vehicle before driving.
  • Obey all driving regulations and adhere to all laws regarding vehicle speed and operation.
  • Consider all road hazards and operate the vehicle with full coherency and alertness at all times.
  • Maintain control over any situation that may interfere with the safe operation of the vehicle.
  • Act courteously toward internal and external guests at all times, offering assistance and information about the resort’s promotions and specials.
  • Be punctual and adhere to the specified schedule to ensure guests are not left waiting.
  • Never leave the bus unattended with the engine running or while passengers are aboard.
  • Provide hotel guests with assistance in loading and unloading suitcases/luggage.
  • Practice, support, and promote the resort’s AAA Four Diamond and Gun Lake Casino Resort’s “Unsurpassed Service” standards consistently.
  • Stay knowledgeable about directions and the resort’s promotions and specials to assist guests effectively.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management to meet the business needs of the resort.

 

Essential Qualifications:

  • Must be 18+ years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Experience driving shuttle bus, stretch limo or any oversized passenger vehicles preferred. 
  • Must possess a valid, current Chauffeur’s license for the State of Michigan and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members, and Management in both written and verbal form.


Physical Requirements:

  • Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color, and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance.
  • Must submit to random drug testing as requested.
  • Manual dexterity to operate job-related equipment.
  • Must be able to sit for the duration of the shift.


Work Conditions:

Work is typically in the driver seat of a 15-passenger transport van, and at times in a 7-passenger limo-type sedan, which may be unusually hot, cold, noisy, or bright, and may contain second-hand smoke.   Work may be performed in small areas with a 3 ft. wide access. Tasks may be required to be performed from a sitting or non-sitting position. Team Members will be required to stand, walk, lift, reach, push, pull, and grasp.  These tasks include the maintenance and care of assigned areas. Work may entail trained chemical usage. Constant contact with fellow Team Members and Guests.
