A wonderful family in Playa del Rey is seeking a caring and reliable part-time nanny to provide after-school transportation and support for their active 11-year-old daughter. This position involves both driving and supervision, including homework help and activity support.
Start Date: ASAP
Length of Position: Ongoing, long-term
Days/Times Care is Needed: Schedule varies weekly
- Mainly Tuesday through Thursday
- Mondays and Fridays – vary, depending on family’s schedule
- Hours: Minimum 2 hours per day, up to 5 hours (between 3pm and 8pm)
- Flexibility: Weekly schedule, varies by activities
Rate: $50–$75 per day (inclusive of mileage reimbursement)
1 child: 11 year old, girl
Responsibilities
- Pick up child from school in the afternoon (approx. 9 miles from family’s home)
- Provide safe transportation to home or after-school activities (soccer, etc.)
- Stay on-site during activities or at home as needed
- Support with homework and provide light snack before activities
- Ensure safe, responsible, and engaging care
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of childcare experience with school-aged children
- CPR certification or willing to become certified
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance
- Clean driving record (Motor Vehicle Report check will be required)
- Ability to pass background and social media checks
- Can provide two professional references from paid childcare roles
Desired Qualifications (not required):
- Experience supporting children with busy after-school schedules
- Comfort with light homework assistance
- Flexibility to adjust schedule weekly as activities shift
Compensation
This position pays $50–$75 per day, with gas/mileage reimbursement included in the daily rate. The family is looking for a few hours per week, between 3pm–8pm, with varying days depending on activity schedule.
