POSITION TITLE: Part-time Assistant Principal

REPORTS TO: Supervising Principal
This position is intended to support the current administration at Excelsior Springs Middle School for the 2025-2026 school year. This position will be on a part-time basis, likely 2-3 days a week, supporting the current administration with student discipline, classroom evaluations, building supervision, and other assistant principal duties.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s Degree minimum.
Appropriate certification for the state of Missouri.
Teaching Experience required.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Strong computer and interpersonal skills.
ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the principal in the overall administration of the school.
Serve as administrative leader in the absence of the Principal.
Work with faculty in compiling the annual budget requests.
Requisition supplies and equipment, conduct inventories, maintain records and check on receipts of such materials.
Cooperate in the conducting of safety inspections and safety drill practice activities.
Assume responsibility for coordination transportation, custodial, cafeteria and other support services.
Supervise the reporting and monitoring of student attendance.
Assist in maintaining discipline throughout the student body and deal with special cases as necessary.
Serve with parent, faculty and student groups as requested in advancing educational and related activities and objectives.
Perform such record keeping functions as the principal my direct
Supervise classroom instruction and evaluate teaching performance as assigned.
Plan, organize and preside over teacher meetings.
Promote and hold pre-service and in-service education training as assigned
Coordinate curricular revision.
Assist the principal in interviewing prospective teachers.
Coordinate the work of student teachers within the assigned area.
Advise the principal on class loads and teacher subject assignment.
Evaluate achievement and placement of students in assigned areas.
Perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities as the principal from time to time as needed.
