The Superintendent invites qualified and interested persons to apply for the position of Assistant Coach, Boys Outdoor Track
An Assistant Coach, Boys Outdoor Track is responsible for providing a rich athletic experience for students and contributing to their personal and academic growth through rigorous, fair, rewarding and educational practices that focus on youth development, physical fitness and 21st century skills.
Position Summary:
The Assistant Coach supports the Head Coach in leading and developing the Outdoor Track program. The Assistant Coach helps implement practice plans, supports game-day preparation, and mentors student-athletes while upholding the values of sportsmanship, teamwork, and academic achievement.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist the Head Coach with planning and conducting practices.
Provide instruction and feedback to players on skills, techniques, and game strategies.
Support the Head Coach with game-day management, including substitutions, sideline organization, and player supervision.
Serve as a positive role model for student-athletes, emphasizing character and sportsmanship.
Monitor athlete safety and report any injuries or concerns to the Head Coach and Athletic Trainer.
Help supervise athletes before, during, and after practices/games, including locker room and travel settings.
Assist in maintaining and distributing equipment, uniforms, and program inventory.
Communicate effectively with the Head Coach, athletes, and parents as directed.
Support academic expectations and encourage athletes to meet eligibility requirements.
Assume coaching responsibilities as directed by the Head Coach.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of baseball rules, techniques, and strategies.
Prior coaching or playing experience preferred.
Ability to work collaboratively with coaching staff and school administration.
Strong communication and motivational skills.
Commitment to athlete development both on and off the field.
Valid coaching certifications (as required by state and district).
Current CPR/First Aid certification.

· Salary Range: Stipend as specified in applicable union contract $4,671.00
· Employment Period: Length of outdoor track season, including recruitment and practices prior to, and championship contests and other events related to the sport following the regular season.
