Summary: Line Technician II will build upon the responsibilities of Line Technician I take on additional duties and demonstrate a higher level of proficiency in quality control and at least one piece of equipment. Uphold safety protocols, and adhere to all Schwan Cosmetics, USA policies and procedures. Reporting to the Production Supervisor or Department Manager, you will play a critical role in meeting or exceeding performance expectations.
Essential Responsibilities and Percentage of Time Spent
1. Quality Control (55%)
- Conduct thorough daily/routine quality checks with increased attention to detail, and visually inspect quality attributes (bar codes, seals, graphics, etc.).
- Report on quality and foreign material issues.
- Proactively identify machine or line problems while collaborating with senior line technicians when needed.
- Rotate between different machines as needed to ensure smooth operations.
- Adhere to scrap requirements.
2. Machine Operation and Setup (30%)
- Assist with changeovers and line clearance movement.
- Operate at least one piece of equipment, read and follow manufacturing orders.
- Demonstrate advanced proficiency in rotating between different machines as needed to ensure smooth operations.
3. Housekeeping, Safety, and Continuous Improvement (10%)
- Lead by example in housekeeping activities to maintain a clean and safe work environment to include cGMP guidelines.
- Take an active role in driving safety initiatives and participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, eco-friendly practices.
4. Additional Responsibilities (5%)
- Display a willingness to take on additional duties as required by the Production Supervisor or Department Manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required, or equivalent experience.
- Must demonstrate advanced proficiency in basic math skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers.
- Ability to read micrometers and rulers.
- Fluent in speaking, reading/comprehending, and writing in English.
Experience:
- 1-2 years of experience in a high-volume machine-paced manufacturing environment with demonstrated performance to standards, or equivalent education and experience.
